E-Mail Privacy Policy
E-mail is a very cost-effective way for us to communicate. In order to encourage members and others associated with St. Michael’s community to provide their e-mail addresses to us, we have adopted this privacy policy. We will never provide our e-mail lists to anyone. All group e-mails will be sent by the church office in a way that hides the addressees from all other addressees. Anyone wishing to send an e-mail to a group at St. Michael’s may provide the message to the church office for forwarding. No e-mail will be sent to a St. Michael’s list without the approval of the Pastor or a member of the Executive Committee. (One approval may be given for periodic e-mails.) The Church Administrator keeps a number of different St. Michael’s e-mail lists, and will include on the subject line of any e-mail the list she is using. If you wish to be removed from any or all of St. Michael’s e-mail lists, just let her know at [e-mail address] or [office number].
Web Privacy Policy
Privacy policies applicable to the main St. Michael’s web site:
- Staff
- Full names, e-mail (if they have one) and office telephone numbers will be shown
- May be identified in photos
- No home contact information
- Adult members
- Normally, give only first names and last initial
- Provide full name and / or e-mail if they specifically request in writing
- Do not provide home telephone numbers or addresses even if they give permission; these are available in the printed Directory available to members and friends from the office
- Minors
- Provide only first names and last initials
- No contact information, even e-mail, without the permission of the Pastor or the Executive Committee
- Photographs
- Will not post any that would be objectionable to anyone in the photo, and will remove if a subject objects
- Subject to the same name rules as above
We may maintain a password-protected members only site to post information intended only for our members and where we may have identifying information beyond that permitted on the main site. We will not publish our contact lists even on any members-only site; our Directory is available from the church office. If we maintain a members-only site, we will make every effort to only place information there that could not be easily purged for publication on the main site.
