Playground goal achieved!

Thanks be to God!  Members and friends of St. Michael's have donated $32,850 toward our new playground!  This amount exceeds our original

goal of $30,000 and will enable us to create a safe and fun fellowship area for our children.

With the enthusiasm high, Council has approved the

receipt of additional gifts up to $45,000. Additional

donations will be spent on the enhancements that were seen as incremental improvements beyond the basic playground plan, including a stone wall and landscaping in the garden area, an enclosure for the dumpster, and other features that will improve the attractiveness of the rear entrance area to St. Michaels.

A party to celebrate the achievement of our playground goal is being planned for the early evening of Saturday May 21, with child care to be provided.  Details will soon be available.

Appalachian Mission Trip Registration

Please pick up a copy of the two-sided registration form for the trip to Virginia this summer from the table in the fellowship foyer. There are 2005 Mission Trip brochures available for pick-up on the table.  The next planning meeting is Tuesday, April 26 at St. Michael’s; this is also the hard deadline for registrations. Since we have limited housing at the Lutheran camp where we stay, we suggest that you send in the form and $75 deposit in ASAP.

We will be painting the inside of a facility belonging to St. Luke's LifeWorks in Stamford.  Some preparatory sanding and cleaning will also be required.  All supplies will be furnished by AmeriCares.

Join us for a fun day of working together.  Volunteers must be age 14 or over.  Lunch will be provided.

Calling all painters, artists, performers and creative types!  The Joint Vacation Bible Camp Market Place 29 AD is scheduled for June 27 - July 1 this year and will be hosted at NC UMC.  We need all kinds of talented types to help us in preparing for the event and to help out on the days the children are present.  The Camp day is from 9:15 - 12:00.

We need jewelry makers, metal workers, bakers, calligraphers, EMT's, camp nurses, pottery makers, weavers, spinners, quilters and knitters, seamstresses and tailors and any other kind of crafter you can think of!
