During the school year (September-May) we offer Sunday School from 9:15-10:00 for children in Pre-K to 6th grades and their parents. We offer a confirmation program for 7th and 8th graders. We officially kick off each new Sunday School year in early September with “Rally Day.” Our program offers abundant variety. Some weeks we break into age groups to study that week's Bible lesson along with fun activities. Some weeks we put our faith into action for service projects. Some weeks we prepare to lead part of the worship service at 10:00. During Advent each year, we assemble our own Advent wreaths, and we perform the Christmas story as part of a Sunday worship service. We are continually energized by learning the many ways Jesus loves us!
We offer First Communion instruction, a program called “Fed and Forgiven,” to 2nd grade children and their parents. Once they complete the program, children typically receive First Communion during a designated worship service in May each year.
Our Confirmation prep course is a two-year program for 7th and 8th grade youth who seek to become confirmed members of St. Michael's. The curriculum is chosen and led by Pastor Derrick, with classes held on Sunday mornings from 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. As part of St. Michael's confirmation program, participants serve as acolytes and help with various community service projects. The group also occasionally gets together just to have fun! At the conclusion of the program, participants receive the rite of confirmation, through which they publicly proclaim their faith and affirm their baptisms during a worship service. We offer a weekly Bible study on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.
